Update

Cassidy seems to be much better tonight. Ben said that she slept a lot today. She has a VERY small fever (about 99). I think that she should be fine for school tomorrow. Right now she’s asleep in the fort we built in the living room. It’s her new favorite place to sleep.

Things like last night remind me how special life is. I know that seems extreme but even if for 1/1000th of a second you have the horrible feeling that something is really wrong with you child, you realize how little things like giggles and smiles and whispy hair and reading silly books and singing silly songs in the car… Well, you realize how simply uncomplete and boring your life would be without it.

I hugged her a little tighter tonight…

Emergency

So we ended up at the Emergency Room last night at 10:45 with Cassidy having a temperature of 102.6. I was really scared by that. 45 minutes after we got there and WELL over and hour after Tylenol AND Advil, it had only gone down to 101.5. We finally saw the doctor around 2:00am. There is no sign of infection (a few kids from her school had to go home with Strep Throat), not too much puss, her nodes were not that big. They think she just has a virus but they cultured her throat so by tomorrow we should know for sure. 🙁

She’s asleep right now but does not feel THAT warm to me. She has a slight fever I think but nothing to wake her up over.

Ben is going to stay home with her today because I have to work from 9:30 to 6:00. He pretty much was my glue and my rock last night. When I realized she was that warm, she had started coughing which was causing her some pretty severe pain. Breathing out would make her cough, cough would cause her pain… so she was holding her breath for 10-15 seconds at a time and it seemed like she could not breathe. As a parent, that tends to really freak you out.

Ben calmly said, put her in the bath and we’ll take her to the Emergency Room. So I did, and we did and I can’t express enough how much it meant to me last night or how much it means to me today that he is willing and going to take care of her.

Thank you, Ben…

Sick

Cassidy came home from school talking funny. Now she’s in bed coughing this nasty dry cough. She woke up a little while ago with a fever and everytime she cough’s she’s in pain. 🙁 I gave her some Advil, she won’t let me spray Chloriseptic (SP) in her throat even though I offered to do it first to show her it would not hurt. I told her that she needs to drink a lot of water. I have a feeling it’s going to be a long night… 🙁

New Layout

So it’s up. I know there are broken links here and there. I know that sucks ————->
For some reason CSS was not agreeing with me and would just not read the scrollbar color crap. I think that I’m just too tired to deal with it right now and am probably missing something really simple.

I do like the bubble’s though. This has been a desktop that I’ve used on and off for years now and I never get tired of it. Hope ya like it, I’m going to bed. G’night!

Five Things…

1. Name five things in your refrigerator.
Milk, eggs, jelly, lettuce, ham.

2. Name five things in your freezer.
Ice, ice cream, ice, ice trays, ice.

3. Name five things under your kitchen sink.
Plastic bags, Windex, bucket, recyclable stuff, dishwasher detergent.

4. Name five things around your computer.
Bundle of CR-RW’s, headphones, pen, bills, water bottle.

5. Name five things in your medicine cabinet.
Vitamins, thermometer, aspirin, bandaids, face cream.

Ben is too good to me.

Thursday after work I was SOOOOO tired. I managed to stay awake till he got home but then passed out shortly after that. He went and got us all pizza, baked it, brought it to me… It’s the little things like that I *really* appreciate because I did not get that for so long.

And with that, I’m off to get ready for another day. I work today from 1:30 to 5:45. The busiest part of Saturday. UGH.

News and Stuff…

So yeah, work is challenging. I have a lot to learn. Today I got to talk to ‘Apple Guy’! He is our Apple Specialist and a general really cool guy. I am looking forward to learning more about them. And the G5.. *drool* I’ve never seen such pretty guts in a computer.

I’m working on Cassidy’s site. New layout is coming soon. She just needed something different. Then when I’m done with hers I’ll start on redoing mine. I have something in mind but as is the norm for me it will change 13431543 times between now and going live. Right now it’s just too… simple. 😀

I don’t work tomorrow.. YAY, that means I get lunch at Nvidia. 🙂 Ahhh, the perks of dating the biggest geek I know. 😉

Best Buy

I am officially a working person again. I went through orientation Saturday for four hours and yesterday for eight hours. Today was my first day on the floor actually helping customers and doing inventory tracking. I’m not used to selling the way they do. We are not commission based, but we do push service plans and product replacement plans pretty hard but they actually are really great plans to get. Especially when you are buying a $2000 computer.

Overall the computer department is SO busy. The other departments (media, home theatre, mobile, appliances) do not get NEARLY as busy as we do. It’s going to be tough to learn everything that I need to know. But it will be constantly challenging and i’m really looking forward to that

Traffic

So I took Cassidy to the half way point where I drop her off half way between here and Bakersfield so she can see her dad. On 152 I was stuck in traffic going East (normal for Friday). It took me over an hour to go 7 miles. On the way back, the same 7 miles in the other direction took 7 MINUTES! 😕

Some genius decided to cross 152 and 156 without an overpass. There is literally an intersection with no light, just a stop sign, and it backs traffic up for miles and miles. When I was on the way back (around 7ish) the traffic was backed up over 10 miles.

/me remembers why Ben showed her that alternate route that she will ALWAYS take from now on on Friday evenings. heh

On a good note, it gave Cassidy and I time to practice writing her name and letters. I’d write letters or her name on some paper then she’d write them. So now I know that even though I don’t have her this weekend, at least I got SOME practice time in. 🙂

Gallery

I added a new photo gallery. Makes it very easy to organize and keep track of pictures. It has quite a few cool features such as commenting, rating, using pictures to send email cards, ect. You can check it out here!

I showed this program to Ben who instantly loved it and you can check out his gallery here.

Remember they are both under construction and will have a bunch more pictures added to them in the near future. I also plan on getting this up and running on Cassidy’s site this weekend.

Enjoy! 😀
