The other day Cassidy said to me, ‘Mom, am I popular?’ This is what followed:

Me: Of course you are honey, you have lots of friends don’t you?
Cassidy: Some of the kids at school said that Elizabeth and I aren’t popular.
Me: *Well, maybe if I go to school and beat thier little asses they won’t think that anymore… Wait, don’t say that. That’s probably not the ‘mom’ way to handle this.* Who said that?
Cassidy: Three kids.
Me: *Maybe I’ll kick thier parents asses too for raising such asshole kids… Nope, can’t say that.* Can you tell me who?

At this point she pretty much clamed up. She started naming random people and I could tell she was trying to come up with names. I think that some of the kids in daycare told her that becasuse she said ‘me and Elizabeth’ which is the new friend she made. Elizabeth is new to the area and is going into first grade too. She is a very quite, very withdrawn girl but she absolutley comes to life whenever Cassidy is around. They have such a good time together but Elizabeth really won’t interact with any of the other kids.

I have a feeling that since the other kids don’t really like Elizabeth because she’s so shy, Cassidy is getting crap from them too because these are the kids that used to BEG me to let Cassidy stay late and who all ran up and asked me when she’d be back when I was enrolling her before she came home from her dad’s house.

I’m not really sure what to say to her about it. I know that I’d be very uset with her if she stopped playing with Elizabeth because the other kids are being this way… but I also don’t want her to feel bad becuase she is not ‘popular’. Part of me is telling me that I need to let her grow up and deal with it how she sees fit and the other part of me wants to find out who the little kids are and discuss it with Mrs. Kaycee (daycare director) and possible parents.

*sigh* I just don’t know what to do!! I didn’t think the ‘popular’ card would be laid out on the table yet! She’s only 5 for Christ’s Sake!

Cassidy put 21 barette’s in her hair tongiht. I know… beause I had to get them all out of her ratted hair before she got into the bathtub. 😯 In this picture you can see the scar on her nose and cheek. I need to get some of those scar reducing pads that Bandaid makes now but the store is ALWAYS out and the Neosporin ones are $40! That’s a little steep for me.. but if they don’t have the Bandaid brand one’s in soon I’m gonna have to break down and buy them. She’s already pretty self-conscious about them.

And here I am while trying to tickle her and not drop the camera.. it’s amazing how ticklish ALMOST 6 year old little girls are. (As you can see if you add a blur effect to hide mom’s shiny un-makeuped skin the scars disappear. ;))

It’s high time I get the new domain. Friday when I get paid I’m gonna give the go ahead to get it ordered so by no later than Monday evening it should be up and running.

Again, the new site’s address will not be posted here on AS.com because it is a bit of an attempt to gain some seperation from people I need to be seperated. If you’re a regular visitor don’t dispair… people who have been leaving comments will get the new address.

As for the fate of AS.com… Well, when it expires next I’m just going to let it die. This leaves me the problem of where to lead my friend and family. A lot of family like to read the site. They catch up on me and Cassidy and whatever random mood I happen to be in at the time. I just really don’t feel like keeping up with multiple sites. Maybe I’ll combine a site for me, Cassidy & Ben… Maybe just me and Cassidy… If I ever ever get married again then I’d have to change the name AGAIN if I use a family name… I just don’t know.

I keep coming back to maybe I’ll just give out the new damn domain and use WordPress to password protect everything that I don’t want to get out… but I know that it wouldn’t be THAT hard to work around if people really wanted to. ARGH!

I got home today and there was thsi strange girl looking back at me in the mirror…

So, it’s up. There’s still a lot to be done but Ben’s looking all cuddly in bed so… I planned to get everything done before making it live but I just couldn’t stand the green anymore.

As I fix stuff I’ll let ya know. 🙂

Yes, the board is down. We are getting CPanel and while everything’s being tweaked and whatnot you are likely to run into a few errors. I’ll get it all back up and running right tonight. 🙂

I decided tonight I really didn’t like the layout I designed two nights ago… so I redid the entire thing except the girl. I’m not messing with it ANYMORE except to code!

Congrats Jessica. I wish you and your family, especially the new little guy, all the best. Welcome to mommyhood! It’s such an amazing journey! 🙂

I took Cassidy to IKEA to day because we are going to sell her furnature and buy all new stuff. She picked out everything she wanted and thankfully it’s pretty much what I wanted when I went in first without her.

I’m excited. Tommorw I’m gonna go ina spit shine all her old furnature (that was actually my furnature that I got in 4th grade) and take some pictures of it and get it up on Craigslist and Ben’s gonna put it up on NVinfo, Nvidia’s intranet. It’s a beautiful hand painted, 7 piece, solid wood set but it’s just NOT Cassidy’s personality at all. Or mine for that matter.

This stuff is however…

Anyway, it’s safe to say that after an HOUR Cassidy is addicted. 😉 I have an IKEA partner now. *feels the love* I only spent $3.50 while I was there too!! I got a bamboo shoot for my desk at work. I’ve wanted one forever now for at home and for $1.50 how could I pass it up? I’m gonna take this one to work and on Friday pick up a vase and like 5-6 shoots for my desk here at home… AND Cassidy got a heart shaped ice cube mold. It’s really rubbery and the first batch came out really cute.

I’m screwed. It’s one mile up the freeway from my work. I’m going to be there at least twice a week now that Cassidy wants to go back already!!!

Well, I finally took the time to start working on a new layout. I have the basic idea down in Photoshop. Still needs some tweaking here and there before I start to code it. Here’s a little sneak peak…

I’ve fallen in love with some Pinup girls I found on a site not too long ago. Full credit and artist info and all that good jazz will come out with the layout… soon. 🙂 And it will have soem color again!! This green is depressing me lately!!
